Week 23: CSP Element 2

This week, in our lesson we explored different types of synthesis in the digital realm. For example, we went through the basics of FM synthesis and subtractive synthesis, whilst also diving into more interesting styles such as granular and additive.

After this lesson, in my own work, I wanted to synthesis a couple of different bass sounds that I could use as the bd for my sound piece. Using wavetable on Ableton, I experimented with different wave shapes from square waves, sine waves, etc, etc. I ended up settling on a sine wave that I had modified slightly (on FM mode, increasing the AMT value to around 50%) as well as blending in a second oscillator that was a fairly simple triangle wave. To add movement to my bass, I added an LFO to the pitch value of my oscillator 1.
